A Message of Support to Bradley Manning from Bruce Kent
But I am with you in spirit.
It
is time for those in power to realise that acting in accordance with
conscience is not a crime, but a duty. Bradley has committed no crime except to reveal the truth . All our recent wars have been wrapped in lies It is those who tell the public what they have a right to know who ought to get medals.
Even if some in the US administration think what he did was illegal they still have no right whatever to detain him in such harsh and unreasonable conditions. Even worse if they are doing so in part because he is gay.
He has spent far too long in prison. It is time for him to be relased unconditionally. It is those who have told the lies that brought us to war in Afghanistan Iraq and Libya and may yet bring us to a war on Iran who should face prosecution.
